Amazing
Had a chance to put her to the test this weekend on the backwaters of NC. We got over 15 slot to over slot reds and it preformed flawlessly. Everything I am looking it a saltwater reel. Definitely will be purchasing others. Great job guys.
In the store, the Bahia 150 BC reel was bathed in an almost heavenly light in the case at the counter. I don't know how, but that light shined just a hair brighter on this reel than all the others. I tried walking by without looking on my way to get some live bait, hooks, or other rigging and supplies but alas, my head couldn't resist turning to gaze on the beauty of this reel.
I resisted the urge to purchase for quite a while by telling myself that I've only been using a bait casting reel for a couple of months and freshwater fishing for only a couple of months more. "I'm too much of a novice," I told myself, "I have no business having a reel like this!" Nevertheless, I continued to annoy the good folks behind the counter to just let me hold it again. It wasn't long before they saw me coming and pulled it out of it's heavenly glow without me having to ask so I could turn the reel and imagine what it would be like to be out casting it. "Would this actually help me be a better angler??," I couldn't decide.
After watching "8 Bit Christmas" again this year, I decided that the reel was my Nintendo. It called to me every time I went to Green Top Sporting Goods. "Nick, come over here, come over and feel my ergonomics and how I feel both strong and light at the same time. You want me Nick."
I finally succumb to the pressure. The reel had won and I had to buy it. What was I to do, insult this reel's calling to me by ignoring it? I dare not insult this equipment like I insult the lure in my tackle box that has never had the chance to be used. I refused to hurt it's feelings, so logically I HAD to purchase it! (Is what I told myself).
What happened next may have been divinely inspired, or it may have been the fact I felt privileged or guilty or indebted to have this gem of a reel in my position, but the result was simply miraculous. No backlashes (for someone who spend a majority of their time untangling them), smooth casts like Bambi is telling Thumper a secret, and a sharp shooter level of accuracy.
Honestly, this reel is the first piece of gear for any activity I've partaken in that has improved my performance beyond my skill level. It's a skier who has to stay on the bunny hill buying a better skis and being able to tackle a double diamond trail. Simply amazing.
For me, my values are prioritized by God, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my family, my country, and my Bahia 150 BC.
Very smooth casting and handles big redfish very well. I liked this baitcaster so much, my wife bought me a second one for our anniversary gift. Got both rigged up and now I can’t wait to hit the water again and use those reel.
Amazing product
Heavy duty drag, super light. The best thing is that when a big snook or tarpon takes off,the drag sings on this baby! FFP you did it again!
The reel is light and very smooth! It cast great as you would expect with a smooth drag! Now have 2 and are the go to for plug and topwater fishing!
I've used every reel you can think of: Shimano Metanium, Bates, etc. and this is by far the best bait caster for the money.
My first thoughts of these new reels are I love them. They cast like a dream. Drag is awesome. I’m extremely happy with them and will be buying more.
I am a light tackle guide in Maryland and have purchased 2 of these reels. I have caught stripers, blue fish and red fish with them. These are the best casting and smoothest bait casting reels I have used. Definitely recommend!
